In February, just before the COVID-19 pandemic temporarily shuttered the entertainment industry, Local 665 President Tony Delorio was named to serve a three-year term on the San Francisco Film Commission by Mayor London Breed.

750 Bush—parking demos spark win

On March 1, 2020 a non-union company took control of the 750 Bush Garage in San Francisco, displacing union members and paying low wages without union benefits to workers taking over the location. Teamsters Local 665 responded with a location strike that morning at 6 a.m. For two days, members and supporters showed up in full force.

“Thank you to all who showed support by coming to the location and picking up a picket sign during the two-day strike,” said President Tony DeLorio.

Less than a year after a 400 workers in Sonoma’s solid waste and recycling industry voted to become union members, Local 665 scored another win with an 80% Yes vote in an NLRB election to represent workers at most of North Bay transfer stations and the county landfill.
