Local 517 Secretary-Treasurer Greg Landers proudly announced that the 63 employees at NutraBlend, a subsidiary of Land O Lakes in Madera that manufactures agricultural feed, voted by a large margin to be represented by the Teamsters. Ballots were counted September 1, 2022. Landers is looking forward to securing them a great first contract.

Lots of new contracts
Local 517 has completed negotiations on several contracts and members have ratified them. Members at Land O Lakes in Tulare and at Ventura Coastal in Tipton now have new five-year contracts. The members at Bright Now Dental in Visalia and Myovich Trucking in Fresno have new three-year agreements. Those at the City of Farmersville Fire Department have a new one-year agreement.

Saputo Creamery, with 11 dairy plants around the nation, awarded the Tulare facility with its “Gold Star Plant” award. Management at the facility credited the workers—members of Local 517—for the honor. The plant has nearly doubled in size over the last three years, and currently have about 140 bargaining unit employees.
