Teamsters Local 150 Women’s Committee joins Sacramento’s ‘Run to Feed the Hungry’

On Thanksgiving Day, the Teamsters Local 150 Women’s Committee participated in the annual “Run to Feed the Hungry” event, a local tradition that raises funds for the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services.

The event, featuring a 5K and 10K run/walk, brings together thousands of community members to help combat hunger during the holiday season.

The Women’s Committee saw this as an opportunity to support the community while promoting solidarity and service. Teamsters Local 150 members volunteered, ran, and walked together, demonstrating the power of collective action to address food insecurity.

Proceeds from the event go to the Sacramento Food Bank, which serves thousands of families each year through food distribution, job training, and emergency services. The Women’s Committee involvement reflected its ongoing efforts to fight for workers’ rights and advocate for those in need, both in the workplace and in the community.

The success of this year’s event underscored the importance of unity and community action, with the Women’s Committee playing a key role in helping ensure that families in Sacramento had the resources they needed for a warm, fulfilling Thanksgiving. We hope to see more of our members next year at this annual event.
