Workers at Reyes, in Stockton Ratify Strong Contract  

Workers say Teamsters Winning Record Delivered Historic Benefits in Record Time 

(STOCKTON, Calif.) — Workers at Reyes, in Fleet Management, unanimously voted to ratify a new 19-month agreement with the company after months of negotiations.

Workers in the unit, represented by Teamsters Local 439, had clear demands from day one at the bargaining table. The workers’ solidarity delivered a pension, for the first time and strengthens healthcare benefits including securing Teamsters healthcare benefits for life.

Workers in the unit are Fleet Managers that maintain and repair delivery vehicles for Reyes, Beverage across the region. Reyes is one of the largest beverage distributors in the United States including beer, spirits, ready-to-drink cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages and wine.  

“Since we overwhelmingly voted to join Local 439, our unit has turned the page on a new chapter, ensuring we have respect, healthcare and retirement benefits on the job that we have deserved for years. This is only our second contract and with winning record of Local 439 we have gone from 0-100 in a matter of two contracts; this is a vital win for all of us,” said Benny Terell, shop steward in the unit.  

“From the first day of negotiations the unit stayed united to secure the benefits and wages they deserve,” said Rick Buzo, Local 439 President. “We have a gold standard at our Local of 90% and above for contract ratifications and with the strength of the workers united we knew we could get this across the finish line.”
